Our research and pilot facility, the Chapul Innovation Center (CIC), is located in the vibrant town of McMinnville, Oregon and serves as the heart of our nationwide project development efforts.

As our core production unit, the CIC plays a vital role in advancing our commercial projects by demonstrating the scalability and viability of our solutions.

Chapul Innovation Center Stats

  • The CIC has been operational since 2021.

  • We have successfully maintained an uninterrupted BSF lifecycle since January 2023.

  • To date, we have managed 72 generations of flies and conducted 100 different trials using various feeds and methods.

Chapul acquired a 45,000-sq-ft industrial facility in McMinnville, Oregon, to process 15,000 tons of food waste annually and produce over 2,000 tons of both organic animal feed and fertilizer. Demand already exceeds capacity, and the project will create 25 local jobs.
